Welcome to Tiny Glimmers, new friend! â¨
Hi, I'm Jenny, the creator of Tiny Glimmers. (thatâs me đ)
What is Tiny Glimmers about?
I started this newsletter as a personal project to explore the power of Imagination in tackling climate anxiety and creating a more sustainable future.
I've struggled with eco-anxiety for years, and it's been a challenging journey to navigate the emotional ups and downs of climate change.
Through lots of learning and experimenting, I've come to believe that Imagination is the missing ingredient when it comes to climate change and the other big crises our world is facing.
Itâs the key to transforming our (natural) fears and worries about the future into hopeful, collective action - because if we canât imagine a more kind, just and sustainable world, then how can we even begin to build it? đ¤ˇââď¸
⨠Why Tiny Glimmers?
I chose the word "glimmer" for two reasons:
Itâs a glimmer of (active) Hope that we can still turn things around
In mental health, glimmers are âmoments of positivity we experience that can combat difficult situations or negative emotionsâ. *
And theyâre âtinyâ because even a tiny glimmer of hope can be enough to inspire positive change and have a big ripple effect.
Plus when youâre in the throes of eco-anxiety, you might only have the capacity for a tiny glimmer or a tiny action, and thatâs ok.
đ Weekly Glimmers in Your Inbox
Each week, I'll choose a topic that's keeping me up at night, but instead of going down the doom and gloom spiral, I'll ask 'What if things went right?'.
Iâll practice using my imagination to write you a letter from that brighter, more hopeful future, offering a glimpse of what could be.
And youâre invited to join me on this weekly journey, to imagine a better tomorrow together!
Topics will range from fast fashion to food waste, consumerism to Christmas trees!
𧪠Itâs an experiment
As with any new project, I have a tonne of ideas and Iâm very excited about sending you letters from the future. But I also donât want to restrict myself too much so early on, so Iâm approaching Tiny Glimmers as an ongoing experiment.
That way I can explore different formats and media and hopefully you will let me know which ones you like and which ones are a snooze fest!

Who am I?
𼨠Originally from Munich, I now live in a small town in South West England.
đŠâđŹ Iâm a former scientist with a PhD in chemistry.
âď¸ Iâm an ex-digital nomad whoâs travelled the world full-time for 7 years.
đŠâđť I run an online business where I support self-employed women.
đ Iâm a Facilitator, Coach and Climate Coach and (aspiring) Imagination Activist.
đ Iâm also a bookworm and life-long learner, currently curious about Imagination, community care, anticapitalism and gardening.
đ§ I was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 37.
𧜠And Iâm a crafter, dabbling in crochet, sewing, knitting and mending.
So why Tiny Glimmers and Imagination?
As you see from the 8 bullet summary of my 41 years on this planet, I have re-imagined my own life many times, through changing careers, moving abroad, neurodivergence and more.
đ Iâve also had the huge privilege to travel to many incredible places on this planet and to see how beautiful our home actually is.
Bearing witness to our planetâs destruction sent me down a spiral of eco-anxiety and climate grief, while also making me appreciate how much there is to fight for. đ
And apparently, Iâm a half-glass-full kind of person, so when I learned about the power of Imagination, I knew this was the missing puzzle piece in ushering in a better future. đ
Tiny Glimmers is my small contribution and a way to learn, experiment and find like-minded souls to practice our collective imagination.

* The concept of âglimmersâ is quite new in the mental health field, so itâs best to âview them as potentially valuable assets rather than sole solutions.â (read more here)
